Although they're technically omnivores, pandas eat bamboo almost exclusively. Because of the growing seasons of bamboo, pandas in the wild need at least two species of the plant available.
As the panda is generally vegetarian, with a few exeptions, it is easier for the panda to obtain food. In some parts of China, there are such things as bamboo corridors, which are where people have planted bamboo, so the pandas can get their food easily.
