Dolphins have something called Echolocation. That's where their brain sends out sonar messages and when the rays hit an object nearby, it sends the information back to them telling what animal, object, etc. and what size and shape it is. They send out rapid clicks which give them a mental picture af what's in front of them, and where they are. Since dolphins have weak eyesight, this adaptation is their "sight"; they use it to stun prey.
