I have a 2 year old male staffie and he is the fastest dog at the dog park on most days. I don't know how many miles per hour he runs, but this is one quick dog! People are amazed at how fast he is. Once in a while there's a border collie or some sighthound that can outrun him but that is rare. He is not good for long distance though, and tires easily, especially on a warm day.

They are athletes, but they aren't "track stars". They are muscular, stocky, with shorter legs. Therefore, they run like a well-muscled non-fat fit football player wide receiver, but not like a tall legged skinny track star sprinter.

Staffies are not naturally running dogs, compared to dogs like Border Collies, German Shepherds or Huskies, since they weren't bred for the purposes of running very far. This means that Staffies have short legs and quite bulky bodies and therefore they are not the types of dogs that can run the furthest of all the breeds of dogs. However, Staffies are nonetheless very energetic dogs on the whole and they can run quite a bit. It would be difficult to say exactly how far a Staffie can run as it would depend on the individual dog and especially on how fit the dog is, but it should be able to easily run 10km at a time, and even up to 15km. However, I would not recommend making a Staffie run any further than that at a time as that could lead to injuries for the dog.
