Yerf dog go karts can go as fast as any other go cart. When you buy one you should look at the engine size. If your 6' and weight 220lb the you probably don't want a 110cc go cart. the bigger the engine the more power, torque and speed you get. If you want a fast go kart then i would get one with a 250cc engine. so yerf dog karts don't have a "max speed". There speed depends on the engine. What you really should be looking for is torque not speed. Ya going fast is fun but if your kart doesn't have enough torque to get you up to a good speed then what's the point. plus more torque gives you a better take off. If your kart has low torque, and if your one of the people that likes to spin the tires when taking off then your gona be in trouble. So before you buy, be shure to look all these thing up before making a decision.
Hope this helped
