A blood glucose curve is performed on a dog by measuring the blood glucose early in the morning, then feeding the dog and administering insulin. The blood glucose is then measured every 2 hours.
If the dog is recieving insulin twice a day, a 12 hour curve will be performed. If the dog is recieving insulin once a day, a 24 hour curve will be used.
Ideally, the curve will gradually drop after the administration of insulin and then rise close to the original height before the next dose.
