Tigers can eat 40 pounds of meat at one time. After gorging themselves they can go several days without food. Tigers that are in zoo's eat about 10 pounds of meat with vitamins.

The Bengal tiger population can increase by better poaching protection measures, and preservation of habitat. The last survey done showed the population in India had risen to over 1800 in 2011.
