There are many more 'Haflingers' in the UK but sadly many of those imported from the continent do not qualify for registration with the British Society. All animals registered in the UK have to be 100% purebred Haflingers, with their pedigree traceable through many generations to proove bloodlines. All are in line with the Breed standards of the 'mother' stud book in North Tyrol, Austria. Many countries abroad have allowed a percentage of Arab blood as well into their stud books but this means the horses would be classified as 'part-bred' here in Britain.
