Typically a Saint will come into heat twice a year, spring & fall, although it has been documented that some females only come into season once a year, although to my knowledge is not the norm..

The same amount of times as any other dog does, every 6 months for approximately 2-3 weeks. You should spay your dog if you want a longer lived and healthier animal. You will cut down the risk of mammary tumors, uterine infections that can kill such as pyometria, perianal tumors, etc. Take your St. Bernard in for a check up with your Veterinarian and discuss this issue with him or her.
