its actually about 2 months. once the joey's are born they make the 5 minute journey to the mothers pouch where they stay for nearly 2 months. when they are ready to emerge. they're eyes will still be closed for about 10 days. they will still slip they're head into mom's pouch to nurse but will ride on her back till the eyes are open.
