They normally stand about 14.1 - 15.1 hands high.
A hand is equal to four inches
A hand measurement is 4 in (101.6 mm), so a 13-hand high (13 hh) horse would stand 52 in at the shoulder. Any horse less than 14.2 hh (58 in), generally is considered a pony.
They are About 15 hands high (150cm/60 inches).
The Arabian
Something quiet, like a Quarter Horse. Nothing like a high-strung Arabian or Thoroughbred.
A horse is over 14.3hh and a pony is under 14.2hh [ hh= hand high] [ there measured in hands] [1 hand is about and adults hand]
Probobally the Arabian because they were originally bred to endure hot and sandy deserts. But if you are a beginner horseman or (woman), the Arabian would be a little too high spirited for you. Then I recomend the all-around Quarter Horse.
I'm assuming this question means what types of horse can stand 12.2 hands high. Hands are the most common Western measurement of the height of a horse, taken from the height at the highest point of a horse's withers, or shoulderblades. A hand is equal to four inches. 15.2 hands means a horse is 15 hands, two inches tall at the withers. Because there are only four inches in a hand, there is no such thing as 13.4 hands or 16.7 hands, et cetera. Hands only go up to .3 before skipping up to the next hand. Any horse under 14.2hh is generally considered a pony. There are some small Arabians and Quarter Horses who stand below this limit but are still considered a horse because they have horselike, and not pony-like, conformation and characteristics. The Caspian Horse and Miniature Horse also stand well below the 14.2 hand cutoff, but these breeds are considered small horses in their own right because of their slender, horselike builds. There are many breeds of pony that can stand 12.2 hands high. Some common breeds of pony include the Welsh Mountain, Pony of the Americas, and Shetlands. Any pony 12.2 hands high or smaller is considered a "small pony." 12.2 hands high is equal to 50 inches.
The Arabian has a very large variation in height. The breed itself can each 16 hand, but that is far from the norm. They rarely see 15 hands. The site I have below is from Arabian horse association. It tells you a great deal about the breed. They are quite beautiful and very high strung.
Well that will vary from horse to horse no matter how good the training. The best way to find out is to free jump the horse and continue to raise the jump until it's clear how high the horse can jump without problems.
I'm no expert, but they have delicate facial features, kind eyes, a dished face and a high tail carriage.
It cannot jump as high as the fence is, but you can train the horse to jump, but some horses just arent good at it, so dont push your horse to hard.
Mustangs tend to be small, less than 16 hands high, and bunchy/stocky. Basically they look like a cross between an Arabian and a Quarter Horse, although they tend to favor the Quarter Horse.
