There are two kinds of Friesian Horse:

The First is 'Baroque' - The stockier type

The Second is the 'Sport Horse' - The finer type

The Baroque is the oldest kind of friesian, they are the ones that knights used to ride because they are stronger and could therefore carry the armour. These horses are the ones you are most likely to see in horse shows such as 'Spirit of the Horse' and 'Apassionata'.

If you were to look at a picture of the two different kinds you could tell the difference almost immediatly, as the sport horse's head look finer and more Arabian - like, whereas the baroque is very stocky and one of my personal favorites.
