How many cups of food per day should a Doberman eat?

3, One in the morning one mid day and then at night. (around 8-9) but no latter OR Consult your Vet. Dogs - not unlike people are different. Weims tend to be a little more high strung...you know - we use Nutro dog food and I am "pretty sure" that at one point they were up to 5 cups depending on the dogs weight - which by the way seems to be the deciding factor alot of times. Try 3 cups and try to determine if that is enough. For our weims. Male 80lbs. Female 70lbs there are different feeding guidelines. For Example, our Male gets and extra cup per day...usually in the morning. We have found his behavior(scavaging for food scraps, begging etc...) was virtually eliminated. And as a side note he stopped opening our garbage drawer. Yes - I did say garbage drawer!! He can open it without scratching the wood cabinet...absolutely amazing.

Depends what type of food!

The Super-Premium foods suggested feeding an average of 1-3/4 cups of food per day for a 40 lb dog. Premium brands recommended 3-1/4 cups, while the Econo-brands instructed feeding 6 cups a day.

Ask your vet if your dog is over or underweight and when in doubt follow the label!

A doberman on average eats about three pounds of turkey. I have 10 dobermans myself and in this economy they cost me an arm and leg. But they are the BEST dogs ever! I love them so much!
