How many different breeds are there of pitbull dogs?

Not true.....there is only ONE true breed and that is the American Pit Bull Terrier. There are different variations and blood lines but those have just been breed buy certain breeders until they got a specific look that they wanted, such as the Colby line and so one. There is no such thing as a red nose or blue nose pit and I have one of both....they are just colors.

Contrary to Dr. Q's "opinion," there is no pit bull breed (BTW Dr. Q, pit bull is two words, not one). Again pit bull is a catch all phrase describing certain types of dogs--usually American Pit Bull Terriers, America Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Terriers, and often the American Bulldog. I have 25 years of owning AmStaffs and APBT.
