Nor should a Dog be mated before it has had at least two seasons. Allowing a Dog to have more than 2 or 3 litters in it's lifetime may result in physical and psychological damage to the mother and the puppies will be weaker. It is cruel to allow a Dog to have more than this many litters.
The absolute maximum amount of times that you should breed from a dog (regardless of the breed) is three times in its life. Pregnancy and birth can be stressful and places a large strain on the mother. It would be unhealthy both physically and mentally for you to breed a Dachshund more than this.
