This often effects pups. It's an airborne virus so antibiotics are noneffective and the dog often suffers brain damage. In pups, about 50% fatal.
You can prevent it, but seldom completely cure it. Sometimes, contracting it can't be helped. More often the breeder failed to administer the appropriate vaccinations at the appropriate time.
Keep your dogs vaccinated -- it's safe and it works -- require all vaccination records and have them reviewed before purchasing high-end blood line dogs. Our kennel trains K9/military/protection dogs and all are all working dogs, we administer or insure all vaccinations are given on the numbers. Your chances are better with a few year old adoption than poorly vaccinated puppies. Unless you're a trainer for working dogs, you're better off.
Treatment, even in adults can be 2-3 months (and it is expensive). After 30+ years of breeding/training, our kennel doesn't make them suffer (we put them down). If the breeder is so negligent as to not vaccinate on schedule, do the humane thing and don't make the dog suffer or you to have a brain damaged, unpredictable pet. Find a responsible breeder and begin again.
I'm horribly sorry, it's a terrible prognosis, but just ask your Vet.
A puppy should get a series of three distemper shots - 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks. These should be boostered at 12 months, so by 16 months of age a dog should have had 4 distemper shots.
never because dogs are very smart and they love and when you he will not do any thing
Distemper is an extremely contagious virus. It kills more dogs than any other infectious disease, and it ruins the health of many others. The virus attacks brain cells, the skin, mucus membranes, and the gastrointestinal tract. As for Pano, it is a bone disease of dogs that is characterized by bone proliferation and remodeling.
Yes. As with many different diseases it is species specific. That means that it will affect humans. We do not get canine distemper which infects dogs.
9 weeks
Canine distemper virus is a viral disease affecting many types of animals.
Over 1,000 some like 2,000 or some more are very treated bad, which es is called Animal Abuse.
Well I know for a fact before you can sell dogs or cats they need to be at least 7-8 weeks old.
Not enough. While there are no actual statistics that I am aware of, there are too many people in this world that abuse/neglect their animals.
Dogs do not need any kind of milk, it will give them worms.
If one is referencing the classical artists distemper, the density and abundance of the medium and the carrier must be known. Since chalk or lime are fairly light and white lead is fairly heavy it must be known which medium is used and in what proportion relative to the carrier (linseed oil, etc) the medium exists. There is no way to answer this question without the above information and, additionally, the drying time will affect the total net weight of the carrier, while the net weight of the medium will not change... This cannot be quantified without quite a lot of specific information related to the case.
If it is only partially treated (with antibiotics), then this is certainly possible (and has occurred in many cases before).
