it all depends on what you teach them. If you train them well they will most likely be able to achieve the understanding of words and commands such as sit, lie-down etc (as dogs do) Obviously they aren't going to understand lots of human words that we talk with...as they cannot speak human...but they can learn what certain words stand for. (simple ones as listed above)
