A Polar Bear adult males weigh on average, between 352-680 kg or 780-1500 pounds. They measure 2.4-3.0 meters, or 7.9-9.8 feet in length. While the adult females are usually about half the size of their male counterparts, and weigh on average 150-249 kg, or 330-550 pounds, and measure 1.8-2.4 meters, or 5.9-7.9 feet in length. But, when a female is pregnant, they may increase their weight to 499 kg, or 1100 pounds. The Polar Bear is considered the largest carnivore living on land. They are twice the size of the Siberian Tiger, and the Polar Bear shares the title of the largest predator with the Kodiak Bear, an omnivore brown bear that lives in Alaska. The largest Polar Bear on record had been reported to weigh 1002 kg, or 2210 pounds. It was a male shot in Northwestern Alaska in 1960.
