If you buy it from a reputable breeder (which is recommended) then the dog is going to cost more, simply because more effort is going into the breeding of the puppies, with a lot of care and love going into the whole process. However, if you buy it from a backyard breeder, the dog would be cheaper, but you won't be certain what characteristics you will get in the dog. If you buy it from a puppy mill, or a pet shop which usually get their dogs from puppy mills, it would be even cheaper, but that is definitely not recommended because the dogs in these mills are abused and the puppies are not well looked after and you may sit with many problems later on. It is best to only buy a Staffie, or any other dog, if you are sure you can afford to buy it from a proper breeder. Otherwise you can always pick one up at a shelter, which is the cheapest option, and then you can at least know you've saved a dog's life.
