My preference is to have a qualified veterinarian euthanize the horse.
Supposedly to "put the horse out of his/her misery".
Not as much as you'd think there is! Usually when a horse becomes handicapped , lame ,etc. They choose to put the horse down(euthanize) so that the animal won't suffer.
A horse cost anywhere from $10 to as much as $200 in that time period, depending on its bloodlines and what it was used for--cow horse, race horse, etc.
This depends on how you wish to euthanize the horse. If you want the horse put down by lethal injection, then only a veterinarian is allowed to do this. If you wish to use a bolt gun or rifle then you can do this or have a knowledgeable person do it for you. However it is best to have a vet present if nobody has attempted to put a horse down this way before, as should you miss, the horse will be in great pain.
Not alot if you have a proper tools. All you really need is a knife, or even your fist. In the end it does the same thing Save
In South Africa, the cost of a horse can be around R30,000. Looking after the horse can cost around R2,500 per month.
It depends on the breed of the horse, and the amount of training the horse has.
