The short answer is, enough to keep him at a healthy body weight. On most bags of food there are guidelines for how much to feed (my parent's 90 pound dogs get 3-4 cups of food; a 10 pound dog may only need 1/2 cup). However, this is a great question to ask your veterinarian at the next vaccination or 'well dog' visit - your vet can explain how to monitor your dog's weight so that you feed enough but not too much. Obesity in dogs and cats is a major problem in the US and leads to many of the same problems in pets as it does in people: joint problems, Heart disease, Diabetes, etc.

This depends on the breed of dog and the type of food. Big breeds such as Great Danes eat far more than small ones. I have a dog who is approx. 50 cm tall who eats 140g food per day, divided into two meals. Please not that it is not healthy for a dog to eat your leftovers- my grandparents' dog is fed almost entirely on leftovers and is extremely overweight!

depends on its size. Larger the dog the more food. Id say my dog is medium and she gets fed about one and a half tins of wet food a day.
