Feeding a dog, any dog; depends on the active level of the dog. The food you decide to use and the way you want to feed the dog. The best way I have found to see what each dog needs is: I keep dry dog food (a good food) in the bowl all the time (free feeding). I watch to see how much the dog eats at a setting then how often it comes to eat. Now I know the amount it is eating after a few days. I can either divide that into TWO meals a day or keep free feeding. If you can see the ribs on the dog at all, it is not eating enough or a good food. If you can not feel the ribs, the dog is too heavy and needs the food changed. OR, you could be giving too many dog biscuits and treats. The biscuits are high in calories.
