This actually takes two steps to accomplish. First, you have to house train the dog and then you train him/her to use the door. When I wanted my Scottie to use the dog door I would put a treat outside and then push him through the door/flap. After a few times of doing this he got the idea that he could go out the door, but you have to house train him first and then do the door.

Is dog a short o word or a long o word?

The word 'dog' has a short o sound, as does hop or mop. The long o sound is formed when there is an e at the end of the word, as in hope or mope, or when the o is coupled with a w, e.g. slow.

Can you dog be trained to pull and heel on the lead on separate occasions o will it get confused?

No it won't. If you tell it "go" or "run" that is telling your dog to go ahead of you and run. And when you tell it "heel", you are telling it to stop. But you might want to train off leash before you try on leash.
