You cannot compute this kind of data since it depends on so many factor, such as food supply, if it is a male or female, with or without cubs (kits), and also the water supply or lack of. I think they would like a fresh kill once a day at least of good size, especially with cubs, but they can get along with much less, and do. If there is a series of bad days, they might even move to another hunt territory to find something to eat.

The cats are occasionally struck by cars, but measures are being taken to provide areas where they can cross safely. There are signs that indicate that drivers need to be alert for the panthers in the area, and to watch for them on the roadway. But considering most drivers speed, plus the cat's speed, their natural ability to blend into the landscape, and that they are generally more active in poor light, many are hit even when drivers are made aware of the problems. Groups working with the Florida Panther are working with the departments in charge of the roadways to build nature walkways under the roads in the places where they are having the most problems.
