I just had this issue with my week old kitten that I have been hand-rearing. I got worried because he had been pooping a few times a day, a nice tooth-paste consistency which was perfect, but then didn't poop for 24 hours. When he finally pooped, the poop seemed backed up more and was much harder, though still soft by human poop standards. This was followed by some mild diarrhea. The next day, he still hadn't pooped again and his belly seemed full and slightly more firm than usual. I took him to the vet who said that this type of behavior is worrisome for a new kitten. Bowel problems can easily turn fatal. She expressed that a kitten should poop pretty consistently each time its bum is stimulated with a damp wipe (something the mother cat usually does with her tongue after each feeding, which should be every 2-3 hours). The kitten should perhaps not poop each time, but should go at least a few times a day. The vet ended up giving my kitty a shot of fluids, and sending me home with three more to administer over the next three days, hoping that hydrating him would help soften his stool.
As of yet, he still hasn't pooped again, but I'll continue to try every hour or so and hope that my little sweetie will hurry up and poop so I can feel better!
25 times a day
A cat owner should expect to clean up cat poop twice a day.
At 4 months old, kittens typically poop once or twice a day. It's important to monitor their litter box habits to ensure they are eliminating waste regularly and without any signs of distress like straining or diarrhea. If you notice any changes in frequency or consistency, consult a veterinarian.
it is unhealthy so you should often clean the cage.
Answer: Mother cats are often defensive and agressive. When the kittens grow up and the mother cat stops caring for them, her behavior should return to normal.
Feed your cat some good food and it should stop. Its best to just wait it out or go to the vet.
when ever it wants!!! no just joking once every 2 days
You are supposed to poop every six hours
Update: if you write :poop: on facebook there should be a little poop icon
The mother cat will be really ticked off at you if you disturb her litter of kittens. If they are wild, that is. Chances are, if you touch a mother cat's kitten or kittens, she'll neglect them after the scent of human is on her kittens. Translation: She's saying, "They touched you and I'm not caring for you anymore." This however is not true. For I have touched feral kittens and the mother still took care of them. Even though at times I would have gloves on. Which I learned that it doesn't matter whter you do or don't. The mother will get ticked off thinking you are going to take away her babies. In due she'll bring them back to there they were.
This is going to sound gross but, gently massaging the kittens bum with a warm q tip would help.
NO YOU should poop 3 times a day
