It definitely is relative because my 9 year old Abysinnian, Channing, thankfully is as rambunctious as he was as a kitten. His 8.5 year old Domesticated Shorthair sister is the same. I feel very blessed and lucky that neither of my cats have had a serious illness. I make certain that there home is comforting, peaceful and enjoyable. I just cannot fathomed them getting older. A home filled with love is an essential ingredient, in my assessment. I make sure they have nothing to fear.

How old is an 18 and half cat?

Quite old; he would be considered a feline senior citizen. If a cat is well cared for, he can live to be 20-25 years old. It is recommended by the AVMA to have your older cat seen by a veterinarian every 6 months for a routine check up to catch chronic diseases (like kidney failure or arthritis) early, where medical interventions can do the most good.

How many stages of life cycle does a cat have?

Baby (kitten), Kitten/Adolescent, Adult, and Senior. Young kittens are often described as babies until they are fully weaned, which is when they start to become independent. Until one years of age, they are still growing and developing so are called Kittens. After one year (unless it is a large breed) cats stop growing and reach adulthood. Cats around seven or eight years old are often classed as Senior cats. You can know this by simply reading cat foods at stores that sell cat food, they usually have some cat foods for certain life stages: kitten, is just Kitten, adult food is usually just described as "cat", and senior is always just Senior.
