How old should a kitten be before you take it home?

Puppies are ready to leave their mother and go to a new home at eight weeks of age. You should be sure the puppy is able drink and eat on its own without any problems. The puppy will most likely stop nursing from its mother earlier but still needs to stay with her and the siblings until it is eight weeks old.

Well, they should be weened from their mom for at least 3 weeks. I think they should be able to go home around 8-11 weeks of age, but no earlier because they may stress and that could make them VERY sick.....and im sure you dont want to deal with that

When it's about 6-8 weeks old. It usually is weened from it's mother after about 4 or 5 weeks, depending on the puppy. After it's weened away from it's mother, it's usually safe to take it home.
