Shih tzus come in many colors and all are acceptable by standard and none are deemed rare. Liver colored are a little more rare though. It's better by standard to have white showing on the top of the head and tip of the tail, but that is only for show dogs and they are still accepted without those marks. Also, chocolate is not listed as an official color yet. It should show "liver" on the papers, and it's nose has to be brown also to fit that color. Hopefully, they will change this soon as more people are looking for "chocolate" than "liver" and the description of chocolate is much more accurate than liver. In general, dogs cannot eat chocolate. And raisins are even more deadly to dogs than chocolate.
