How smart is a pekingese dog?

Well, my peke is extremely smart, stubborn as all get out so it is easier to train at an early age. Phoebe was potty trained by 4 months old. By 6 months, she rolled over and laid down. By 8 months she played dead, she "speaks", sat pretty (sat up on her hind legs) and talked. When she was a year she learned how to dance. All of these tricks she learned in less than a week. About a year later I watched a YouTube video of a dog who can sneeze on comand, so we gave it a try..she pretty much taught herself. We can't say OR spell out the words bath or wash without her running and hiding. She obeys well, but like I said is stubborn, so she'll take her time. She's not a fan of younger kids to pre-teen. She's very brave and not very hyper even as a puppy. Shedding is crazy and unless you plan on getting a peke groomed regularly, look at brushing them out at least every other day and bathing at least once a week. All and all I am absolutely in love with my peke. Phoebe Jean isn't just my pet, she's my daughter.
