remove the old one, remove the drive pulley. install the drive pulley on the new alternator, lock the shaft with an allen or drill bit thru the housing hole, torq the drive pulley nut, install it like the old one was installed.
Depends on which engine it has in it. For that MY, you might have a Cummins 6BT, 3116 Cat, 3126 Cat...
Cat 3126 torque 780 ft lbs. that is for all cat 3126 c7 engines reguardless of hp rating
I need a specific year... preferably with engine serial number... in order to answer this. Cat never seemed content with the 3126, and always had to change something on it.
Depends on what engine it has. IIRC, that model could be had with the DT466, DT530, Cummins 6BT, Cat 3116, or Cat 3126 engine.
The connecting rod torque specs, for a 3126 Caterpillar diesel engine, are 70 pounds per square inch. The bolts should be torqued in 30 pound intervals.
90 ft lbs
yes i did it
The Caterpillar 3126 engine is generally known for its durability and can typically last between 300,000 to 500,000 miles with proper maintenance. Factors such as usage, maintenance practices, and driving conditions can significantly influence its lifespan. Regular oil changes, timely repairs, and adherence to service schedules can help maximize its longevity.
On a Caterpillar 3126 marine engine, the water temperature sending unit is typically located near the top of the engine block or cylinder head. It is often found near the thermostat housing or on the intake manifold. You can identify it by following the water cooling lines or looking for a threaded sensor that connects to the engine's electrical harness. Always refer to the specific service manual for your engine model for exact locations and details.
The solenoid on a Caterpillar C15 diesel engine can be found on top of the alternator. The solenoid is held on by four screws.
For a CAT GP25K forklift, you typically need an alternator that matches the specifications of its engine, often a 12V alternator with a specific amperage rating. It's essential to consult the forklift's service manual or contact a CAT dealer to ensure you're selecting the correct alternator model for your specific machine. Aftermarket options may also be available, but compatibility should be verified. Always ensure the alternator meets the required electrical output for the forklift's systems.
It actually depends on the application... it won't necessarily be in the same location on a truck as it will a paver.
