How were cats made?

In history, it is generally believed, can be traced back to the Miacis, a weasel like creature that inhabited the earth some 40 or so million years ago. Not just cat history, but the history of all land dwelling carnivores can be traced back to the Miacis, and that includes dogs!

The best known of the cats of pre-history, is the saber toothed cat (Smilodon). These large, fearsome, members of the cat family roamed, and hunted, much of the ancient world before finally hunting their prey, and therefore themselves, to extinction.

By the close of the Stone Age cats had learned that where humans were found, there was the easy prey of rodents, this was still too early in cat history for them to be considered domestic pets. A cat's jawbone that has been dated to 6000 BC was uncovered on the island of Cyprus, and as cats are not indigenous to the island, it points to cats arriving on the island along with the first human colonists.

It was the descendants of the African wildcat that took the history of the cat into domestication.

Cats were made by God. It says God created the sea then the creatures that lived in the sea. Next he created Land then land animals! Cats are land animals. They hate water.( some cats like water.)

It is easy to get some verbs confused.

1. Invented - means a person or persons spent a lot of time thinking about a problem and making a solution. Example: The telephone is an invention.
2. Discovered - People discover things already present in their environment or the world. Example: Christopher Columbus discovered the New World.
3. Created - Creations can be two things: (a) Creation - Whether you believe in a God or not, our world and the things in it are part of Creation. Or, (b) things that people create or make, whether big or small. Example: The little girl created a birthday card for her mother. Picasso created wonderful paintings.

No one created or invented cats. Ancient Egyptians discovered cats who were already on Earth. They domesticated cats to make them friendly to humans. But no one "invented" them.
