How were horses used in agriculture?

it depends on what type of farm. usually draft horses are used to pull heavy loads, sometimes plow. if the farm is a riding center, there are different breeds of horses uaed for lessons, or show. there are also sometimes donkeys, or mini horses stabed for good luck. also, on a ranch, horses, usually quarter horses are used to drive cattle and herd other animals on the farm like sheep and cattle. in Iceland, the Icelandic horses are usedfor people to ride out on and go hunting. the meat is then brought back laying accross the horse's back to the farm or house.

In industrialized nations the modern horse is more of a companion and/or pet to people. But there are still places that depend on the horse for hauling, farming, plowing, ect. I think it's very telling that in the 21st century there are many more horses now than at any other time in history. People used to depend on horses. Now they just enjoy them.
