If the old dog hates the new dog, its eiter because its very aggressive or territorial. I tmight be becase the old dog doesnt want to share his food, or it feels jealous of the attention the new dog is getting(yes dogs can be jealous too). You can punish it lightly every time it shows aggression towards the other dog, like a sharp "NO!" or a squirt from a water gun, or a loud noise(which i dont recommend in case the new dog gets scared). Also, you can do your part by evening out the attention each dog is getting, and put their bowls in a different room. You want to fix this problem as soon as possible because the longer you let it go on, the closer it will get to an eventuall physical attack. also, you can never force a dog to "like" another dog, but you can get it to leave it alone..

Dogs often accept that another dog is living in the house and become less aggressive. However, the hate might never go away completely. Having the two dogs meet each other on "neutral ground" (such as where you're getting the dog) may help reduce territoriality. Dogs will generally only like each other if they played together or showed other signs of friendliness at their first meeting. If you have a dog that is physical with another dog, chances are they'll never be happy friends, but don't give up hope that they can at least live in the same house without fights or aggression.
