Yes they are an excellent breed!
They are definitely a good mix ( a clydie is a very chunky horse and the TB is a very fine has a fine build.)
They make good horses for all levels of riders.
Another great mix is Cleavland bay x Clydie x TB
:)
A Thoroughbred is a registered breed, while a Thoroughbred X (literally 'Thoroughbred cross') is a mixed breed with Thoroughbred blood present.
TB X stands for tuberculosis and is a bacterial infection that primarily affects the lungs but can also spread to other parts of the body. It is a serious disease that can be fatal if left untreated. Treatment typically involves a combination of antibiotics taken over a long period of time.
ADDEDIf you want a "registerable" foal then your choices are limited to another Connemara or an Arabian. The Arabian is the only breed with a viable, popular half Arabian market and registry. Well it depends what kind of horse you're looking to get. Connemara x thoroughbred crosses can make good jumpers. It's important to look for a stud that best suits the mare and the discipline you'd like to show the foal in. I wouldn't limit the search to a certain breed.
There are more being approved each day but some are: Morab (Morgan X Arab) Pintaloosa (Paint X Appaloosa) Anglo-Arab (Thoroughbred X Arabian) Appendix Quarter Horse (Thoroughbred X Quarter Horse) National Show Horse (American Saddlebred X Arabian) Welara Pony (Welsh Pony X Arabian) Quarab (Quarter Horse X Arabian) Walkaloosa (Tennessee Walker X Appaloosa) Azteca (Quarter Horse X Andalusian) Pony of the Americas (Multiple Horse Cross) Irish Hunter (Thoroughbred X Irish Draught) Araloosa (Arbian X Appaloosa) Hispano (Arabian or Andalusian X Thoroughbred) also called Spanish Anglo-Arab And many, many more yet to be named.
im pretty sure the black stallion was a mixed breed that was part arab well this answer was only partly correct. the black stallion's dam was a pure arabin his sire was The Dark Horse (the dark horse nebula) born of sky and stars :) hope this helps :) in the book he was probably a Thoroughbred X Arabian in the movie he was an Arabian
A fourth-grade class at St. Pius X School in Bowie, MD, decided to lobby for the nomination of the thoroughbred as the state horse. They had been learning about the state government and how that works.
They aren't their are many retrained racehorses in 4 star eventing - they are perfect as they have already been trained for stamina and speed and usually have a massive jump. But racing is what they have traditionally done so that is what they are known for. Their proper breed name is Thoroughbred. hope this helped x
It depends on what you want. I think an Arab/Quarter Horse cross (known as a QuarAb) is one of the best. But it really is personal taste. And what you want to do with him. Arabs and Quarter Horses are both very versatile. But so are many other breeds. I think the Quarter settles the hotter temperment of the Arabian and you get a good middle-ground horse.
