Every dog is different. Even though there are breed standards, there is no guarantee that your dog will fall within them.
That being said, Bernese mountain dogs are considered to be family loyal, good with kids, and very playful. One thing that could cause an issue is that they are very large (upwards of 110 pounds). Large dogs are notorious for taking longer to mentally mature than smaller dogs. They have a great big body, but a lower maturity for a while. This means it could take longer to learn not to jump on the kids or to be careful when running by them. Even though it would likely be unintentional, the dog could bang a small child up while the dog is doing some growing up himself.
It's mostly based on your opinion but Bernese Mountain Dogs and Golden Retrievers are both gentle dogs and get along with children very well.
Bernese Mountain dogs are great! i have a boy and my nanna has a girl (: there so loving and cuddley and they apapt to mose owners really quickly. They are also great with kids! my mum used to be a child minder, and some of the younger kids would sit next to him and pull his fur and whiskers out and all he would do is sit there and cry, he wouldn't bite, growl or anything like that, all he would do is get up and move away from them :) you get so attached to them, i couldn't live without my dog honestly.
Kids are new to this world and want to absorb it in a playful way
It is not good if you think it is but it is not. Also it is not good for kids the best is to drink water not mountain dew.
Corgis are generally good with kids due to their gentle nature and playful personality. However, it is important to supervise interactions between Corgis and young children to ensure both parties are safe and comfortable. Proper training and socialization of both the Corgi and the children can help foster a positive relationship.
Boer goats are just as playful as any other goat. Especially the young kids.
Yes, our Mtn. Feist is excellent with children. She even sleeps at the foot of the bed. The kids are 7 and 10 and they are sometimes rough with her. She has never tried to bite either of them.To be certain, it is a good idea to raise your feist; as with any other dog, with your children. Yes, our Mtn. Feist is excellent with children.
