I used to breed the Siamese and I would be asked that all the time. Just like dogs its how you treat them as well as raised them. They love to spend time with you and will do things when they want. If you leave them alone for long period of time they will get into what ever they can find. For the most part they don't like being alone they want to be where you are. They will be right there in the action to whatever you are doing. The Siamese in many ways are like the dogs of the cat family. I have a question for you. Did you look into the breed before you got her? I have get back alot of Siamese that people brought from me because they did not look into the breed. Its in the contract they will have to sign before they take one of my kittens home. That if for whatever reason they don't want the cat they will contact me and I will take them back. Also a check up every 4 months to see how they are doing for the first two years they take them home. When this happens I will take them to the vet and have a check up. After that I will start to find them a home that will take well care of the cat. The same contract is sign before they take the cat home. The Siamese are the best breed I have ever had in my life. I did have other breeds of cats but, the Siamese is my number one choice.
all different Siamese cats like to eat different things, my cat eats almost everything! from fish and meat to yogurt and cheese, my cat even loves Sweetcorn and her favourite food is ham!

Certainly not all Siamese cats are mean. That's a stereotype that I think must come from the evil Siamese duo in the old Disney film Lady and the Tramp.

They're very smart, and they're very energetic, and they are very needy of attention. If they're left alone and not given attention they will find something to do, and it might not be what you'd like them to do.

And of course, like any pets, it's important how they were raised and how you treat them.

Being "nice" or "mean" is not related to their head shape as someone else suggested here. There are nice Siamese of the modern type with very angular wedge shaped heads, and there are nice Siamese of the older type with heads that are a "modified wedge" with rounded cheeks then slanting to a wedge shaped muzzle. But real Siamese don't have big round heads like a British Shorthair, though the jowls on unneutered males can make their faces look round.

There are also many, many cats with the pointed coat pattern like a Siamese who have very little Siamese in them but got the coat pattern from distant ancestors. Sometimes when people say "Siamese" it turns out they really mean pointed moggies.
