When we were kids in the 40's and 50's if my brother or I scraped our knee and it was slow in healing the dog would lick it (my mother told us it would heal it) and it did! I believe it does. If one thinks that dogs were once wild how then did they manage to heal some of their wounds? They licked them of course so there must be healing properties in their saliva.
