I would use vinegar instead as it has antibacterial properties and gives off fewer toxic fumes than alcohol or bleach. Always let the cage air out for at least an hour after cleaing with any type of cleaner to allow any residual fumes to dissipate.

Do guinea pigs cause flies?

They have flies there because no matter how much you clean your guinea pig's cage the smell of the feces will always be there unless you clean your cage every 2 weeks. Just use some soap and water. After about a year of having the same cage I find it more fun for the guinea pigs to get a new cage unless you get them out for about a hour each day. That way they don't get too bored.

They are very clean. But if you are going to have one you will still need to clean there cage. But the guinea pig will clean themselves I believe. I already know that guinea pigs are the cleanest rodent. After the guinea pig is the rat.
