yes, and no. that's the dog's way of trying to make his paw feel better, though it could become infected. depending on the wound I would take the dog to the vet.
Another opinion:
It can be, depending on the problem. A dog's licking will help to clean and comfort a minor wound, but anything serious should be treated by a vet, in which case, licking will make it worse by undoing whatever the vet has done to treat it.
dogs heal your wounds
I think this is an opportunity for some education in basic hygiene: Letting a dog lick your wounds? Now just WHERE has that tongue been? Think about it: dog goes to the toilet and then later dog washes itself using its tongue to clean its genitals.
they seem exhausted and are afraid to go around each other then the one who attacked the other one wants to lick the others wounds !
Their are people who have their dog lick their own vagina so since a vagina does have bacteria, so does sperm. If a dog can lick a vagina and not get effected negatively, then it is okay for a dog to lick sperm. But I am not suggesting it. That is very disgusting and unsanitary.
Dogs lick their wound cause of the pain. For example my dog can't walk he Has a wound. It's so far back he can't lick His wound. My other dog can walk and does Not have a wound. She licks his wound. When Dogs have wounds because of a bad accident. Some dogs believe licking makes them feel better And they believe it helps them heal sinner or Later. From hhhopal
It's an interesting question, so let's start with why they lick their own wounds first. First of all, a dog's saliva is very clean, as compared to a humans. And of course, their saliva contains enzymes, etc. which aid a dog in both cleaning their wounds and to promote healing. The second reason is most likely, instinct. After all, they lick their wounds, so why not yours, and for the same reason, just as a mother dog would lick the wounds of one of her pups, should it get injured. It's strange, but after a period of time, you realize that the dog isn't as much your pet, as you're theirs. That's where the training begins, and you've got a lot to learn. Don't worry though, it won't be long before you're properly trained. Seriously though, I wouldn't encourage a dog to lick your wounds, but I wouldn't yell at it for doing so. Just a simple pushing away at the muzzle and a gentle, "No" should be enough. Chalk it up to praternal/maternal instinct. Our canine friends are a devoted species, and they too feel that they must take care of their human pets.
Ingesting small amounts of human saliva is generally not harmful to dogs. However, it is not recommended to allow dogs to ingest large amounts of human saliva as it may contain bacteria or pathogens that could potentially make the dog sick. It is best to avoid this behavior to prevent any potential health issues.
because there saliva actually heals wounds
I do not have a dog. Sorry :(
This is a tricky question as saliva it's self is an antibacterial, that's why cats and animals lick their wounds. However if one person bites someone else than your saliva works as lets a poison, helping cause infection. So if it is your wound you can lick it but please do not go around lick peoples wounds. It is also a low risk of getting aids if you have a cut in your mouth and you lick someone you is HIV+ blood. so yea don't lick peoples wounds.
Yes, it is generally not recommended for a dog to lick your lips as it can transfer bacteria and germs from their mouth to yours, potentially causing infections or illnesses. It is important to practice good hygiene and avoid allowing your dog to lick your face, especially around the mouth area.
yes it can lick lick
