Depends on how prominent they are. If they are very prominent when the cat is upright, you can feel the spinal cord very easily behind the head, and the hip bones right before the tail are very easily felt, I would definitely take your cat to a vet. Doesn't mean anything serious. My cat had the same problem and it was just an IBS type problem that steroids cured. Also, look for eating behavior and diarrhea problems.
