Oh, dude, both the skunk and the skunk cabbage have this super cool adaptation where they release a smelly chemical to keep other organisms at bay. It's like their own version of a "Do Not Disturb" sign, but with a much stronger odor. So yeah, if you ever come across a skunk or skunk cabbage, just give them some space unless you want to smell like a funky mix of garlic and burnt rubber.
Skunks are known for being able to spray stinky liquids at predators. This is how a skunk defends itself.

Because it needs to protect itself. Example: A human has a large net and wants to catch the skunk in it. The skunk sees him and sprays him so the human runs away and leaves the skunk alone to eat in peace.
It adapts with its large range of food in its diet, from bugs, to small mammals, to plants, and eggs, also being nocturnal.
Striped skunks are the normal skunks. All skunks have stripes unless they are bred to be albino or bred to be more white then black, but every skunk is striped even Spotted skunks.
