Supposedly a female reindeer in the Rudolph story because "olive" sounds like "all of" in the song lyric "all of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names."
This is just a rumor. It comes from the misinterpretation of the song about Rudolph. The correct lyrics are "All of the other reindeer" NOT "Olive, the other reindeer."There is a reindeer up here named Olive, and she laughs a lot about the rumor, but she has never pulled the sleigh, even though I offered because of the rumors. She said she would rather just stay home where it is warm and let other people do the work. Smart reindeer. :)
All of.

Olive, The Other Reindeer was a television special that aired in 1999. The title is a pun from a line in the classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer song; "All of (Olive) the other reindeer...". In the television special, Olive is a dog who believes she is a reindeer after hearing on the radio that Blitzen is injured and Santa hopes he can make the Christmas run with "all of the other reindeer". So begins her journey to the North Pole to fill in...antics ensue.
