Yes, the most common zoonotic disease that dogs are vaccinated against is rabies. While the vaccine protects the dogs against rabies, the primary reason for vaccinating dogs is to protect the people that work with the dog against rabies infection. Injections are often effective (but not always) in reducing the reactions by providing desensitization to the allergen.
