Most toxic plant for a horse?

There are many plants that are toxic to horses, too many to post here. For a good list of plants that are toxic (bad) for horses, visit the ASPCA website. Click the Animal Poison Control link and then go to the Toxic and Non-Toxic Plants. Click horses and you will be provided with a good listing of plants that are not good for horsers. Plus you can click on non-toxic and find what plants can be safely planted around areas where horses are being kept.

One of the most poisonous plants for a horse is not a plant it is a tree. A cherry tree. the leves of a cherry tree have cyanide poisoning in them. horses,cows, goats and any livestock animal can eat them when there fresh but not too much, but when they fall off the tree and become wilted then the poison is consintrated and makes it much worse. Some may ask what does cyanide do to horses? well it attatches to their blood cells and does not let the oxygen out then there breathing gets heavy and they get over oxygenated. usually you will see the effect within 1 hour it can happen quickly or slowly one of my horses died from cyanide poisoning we did not know what was happening so the vet did not detect it but a week later she died then i found out by a friend what happend.
