Your cat could easily have a disease if she was a stray. I trust you had her checked by the vet when you rescued her? A vet could identify the source of her odd smell.
It is also very likely that her tendency to eat everything comes from the fact that she has probably spent most of her life starving. Make her comfortable, and if she does have a disease, please don't abandon her. Treat her with kindness and dignity, and get your vet's advice.
