Does he have enough water? If so, then he is okay. For my rabbit I had to wipe his bottom every time he went number 2.
^^ Maybe give him more hay, it can help alot. My 2 bunnies sometimes have this problem. Putting them in a couple inches of warm water (No shampoo or soap)for a couple of minutes helps loosen the poo, it should come of easier after this. Usually works a treat for my bunnies (:
My guess would be it is a female rabbit. But, if not perhaps he doesn't like where you have put his straw or he is bored. A female rabbit will do this when she builds her nest.
Your rabbit could possibly be pregnet and be getting ready for birth of baby rabbits.
It throws straw over its head to make it quiet and to feel sakure.
No, your rabbit can not have too much straw, more in the winter will provide more warmth and protection from the cold, and in summer (warmer weather) you should put in less as it will cost more to have this much straw all the time, in the summer ONLY put enough to cover the floor of the hutch, as your rabbit can over heat and get sick.
Because under your thumb, inside the straw, there is now a vacuum which keeps the water in.
When you press the top of the straw with your thumb or finger tip, the pressure you apply traps air inside the straw, preventing the water from dripping out. The pressure you exert keeps the water forced inside the straw despite gravity trying to pull it down.
u braid a straw by twisting in or with getting more straws
If you're talking about small quantities of straw, as for a rabbit or guinea pig, any reputable pet shop will have some. However, if you're talking about buying a whole bale of straw, find a farm close to where you are.
i guess but it wouldn't be healthy for them. feed em long grass or pine straw or rabbit food
When you press the top of the straw, you create an area of low pressure inside the straw. The atmospheric pressure outside the straw then pushes the water up into the straw, preventing it from spilling out. This balance of pressures keeps the water inside the straw when you press the top.
rabbbits seldom die from the cold alone, more rabbits die in the summer than the winter. But, if your rabbit is in a cage where it can get wet or the wind can blow on it and it can't get relief it could possibly freeze. A nest box with lots of straw in it will help your rabbit make it thru the winter in good shape. Be sure he has protection from the wind and don't forget the wind can blow up from underneath, too.
Give them a nest box full of good clean straw and some secluded privacy and LEAVE THEM ALONE.
