Well, snow leopards are beutiful creatures. Even though they have "leopard" in their name, they are not a member of the leopard family. They are medium size. They can grow to weigh about 160 lbs. Snow leopards don't roar but it is somewhat of a "meow". They live high up in the mighty Himalayan mountan range.

Their tails are bushy, and curl up in them to keep warm. They also have huge paws which work like snowshoes. They can alo jump at suprizingly far distances. Ther nose is cool. When they breath in the cold air, their nose converts it in to warmer air.

Snow leopards are solitary(lives alone). The only time you will see more than one, is during mating season or a mother and cub. Mothers are pregnant for about a year. They have eather 1 or 2 cubs. After six months the cubs are on their own.They eat mountain goats, hares, and large birds.

Snow leopards are endangered. People used to hunt them for fur, but that is illegal now. They will get shot though, because they will kill farm animals. I hope this infromation comes in handy.

The snow leopard is native to the mountains in South Asia and Central Asia. It has been listed as endangered since 2003 with under 5,000 left in the wild.
