Spaying and neutering prevents some forms of cancer and makes dogs less likely to run away (because they won't be driven to roam and look for a mate) and can sometimes help with behavior problems like aggression.

first of all this woman is quite possibly the absolute dumbest broad in the world, secondly please pay no attention to her answer. i was trying to find the answer to this question myself, so i don't have any answer for it. the reason i wanted to know is i have 14 males and 9 females that are ready to reproduce and put their children in homes all around the Memphis area. every dog i own is incredibly sweet and wouldn't harm anythin unless provoked or instructed. this woman deserves to be attacked by a whole passel of rabid poodles.
