Your dog's eyes don't just automatically need fixing at any age unless there is a problem with them. I suspect in the breed Shar Pei that it is probably entropian, where the eyelids roll in and the eyelashes rub against the eyes. This is dangerous & painful for the eye as it could cause an ulcer. If the ulcer is left undetected then it can cause blindness. You need to take your dog (if you have not already) into your Veterinarian and have the eyes carefully checked. If there is a problem then surgery needs to be done immediately. There are other temporary fixes such as "tacking" (where the Vet puts a stitch in the eyelid to hold it more open), hopefully to correct the situation but it doesn't work too often & at best is only a temporary thing. The best thing is to have surgery done where the Vet removes the part of the eyelid that has the lashes rubbing on the eye. This is genetic so this animal should not be bred and cannot be shown in an AKC show. Have the animal neutered or spayed at the same time if old enough. But it is up to your Vet as to what he or she wants to do.

Do chihuaua get along with shar peis?

Chihuahuas and Shar Peis can get along well, but their compatibility often depends on individual personalities and socialization. Chihuahuas are typically energetic and assertive, while Shar Peis are more laid-back and calm. Proper introductions and supervision are essential, especially due to the size difference and differing temperaments. Early socialization and training for both breeds can help foster a positive relationship.
