that stick bug from bugs life, im not sure what its called but i know its a real insect and it poses as a twig to avoid danger.
A leaf tailed gecko would be an example of one such animal as would the mimic octopus.

For the same reason any snake uses camouflage... to (a) keep itself safe from predators and (b) disguise itself from potential prey - making it easier to capture.
