With its long neck a giraffe can reach high up a tree and eat the leaves and twigs. Giraffes have long necks but with the same number of neck bones we have, 7. They also have a long tongue to grab leaves and branches, even thorny ones, much higher than their neck alone would allow. However, its neck is not long in order to reach high up, it is long in order to reach low down. Without a long neck, it would be impossible for a giraffe to drink water from rivers, due to its equally long legs.
Giraffes eat twigs, mainly from acacia trees, but they also eat grass, shrubs and fruits. They will chew the twigs, then partially digest it in the stomach, before regurgitating the cud and chewing again. This is known as ruminating.
Giraffes eat around 75 pounds of foliage per day. The acacia tree is one of the giraffes most important food sources due to the fact that the leaves have moisture in them making the need to drink from ponds less likely. They can drink water from rivers and streams, but this leaves them vulnerable to attack by predators, particularly crocodiles. However, when they have access to water, a giraffe drinks at periods of no more than 3 days.
Giraffs have long necks to reach the best leaves at the top of trees. They just bite the leaves/branch and eat it!
The main sources of energy in Canada are hydroelectric power, natural gas, and oil. Canada also utilizes nuclear power, wind energy, and biomass as sources of energy. The country is working towards increasing its use of renewable energy sources to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels.

Giraffes obtain their energy by eating the leaves of acacia trees.
The main sources are hydro-electric, natural gas and oil.
The two main sources of energy in Earth's system are solar energy, which comes from the Sun, and geothermal energy, which comes from the Earth's internal heat.

Coal, oil, and natural gas are the main three nonrenewable primary energy sources.
The nutrients that serve as the main sources of energy for the body are carbohydrates. The body uses the carbohydrates to make glucose which is the basic functional molecule of energy in cells.
The two main sources of light energy are natural light from the sun and artificial light from sources like light bulbs and lamps. Both sources produce electromagnetic radiation that our eyes perceive as light.
